PFC JUNIORS – WEEK 26 ROUND-UP

Each week we’re rounding up the weekend action with news and match reports from Prestwich FC Juniors. Here’s the results and reports from week 26 of the season.

The last 10 weeks or so has seen the usual seasonal disruption to the footballing calendar. Typically wet weather has meant a lot of games being lost to unfit pitches while some of the teams also had a scheduled winter break from their leagues.

So to get the ball rolling again for the new year, here’s what took place last Saturday around the club.

Reports

PFC Under 7 Pumas v Elton & Walshaw
The Puma’s got back in to league action with a victory over Middleton L&G Leopards and followed it up with another success, this time at home to Elton & Walshaw.

The Puma’s stormed in to an early lead with goals from Umair, a long-ranger from Adam and a cheeky overhead kick from Leo.

But the visitors hit back and levelled up the scores at three-all before Ash got in on the act for Prestwich to regain the lead for his side.

However, Elton & Walshaw evened the game up again just before the break as the teams went in to half-time at 4-4.

After the restart, the Pumas went on a scoring blitz to take the game away from their visitors with unanswered strikes from Leo (4), Adam (2), Ash and Umair.

Elton & Walshaw grabbed a late consolation but that couldn’t take the shine of a brilliant second half performance from the Puma’s.
