WINTER NETS

by | Tuesday January 26th 2016 | Cricket

It’s that time again: to find your cricket bag, gaze lovingly at your bat, and polish your balls.

A new era beckons for everyone involved at Prestwich CC and we begin our Monday night indoor training sessions on February 1st, to prepare for life in the new Greater Manchester Cricket League (GMCL).

The first team, who will be contesting the premier division, already have a couple of informal sessions under their belts, and retain much of their 2015 league and cup winning squad.

Andy Bradley remains first team captain, with Peter Lorenzini skippering the second team, and Brian Ahern heading up the thirds.

The club is keen to strengthen the ranks of all its three senior sides in readiness for the first league games of the season on April 16.

Chairman Brian Lorenzini said: “This is a very exciting period in our history as we look to consolidate in a brilliant new format. Players from all over the Manchester area wanted change and I believe the GMCL provides a very competitive environment at all levels. If there is any player out there that wants a new challenge, contact us as soon as possible.”

New players are welcome to attend the net sessions, to take place at Old Trafford indoor centre from 8pm to 9pm every Monday, until Easter.
