Prestwich Under 9s turned in a star performance to finish runners-up in this year’s Bury Tournament.

The team won all its 3 group matches to earn a place in the semi-final against Greenmount.

In a thrilling match, Prestwich won off the last ball of the game.

The inexperienced side exceeded expectations by making it to the final where they lost to a very good Elton side who were deserved winners on the day.

Members of the U9 team were: Hasnain Imran, Manav Sharma, Sami Khan, Max Hunt, Oli Staley and Finn Goodwin.

The Bury Cricket Development Group competition was staged on Sunday at Castle Leisure Centre in Bury, and particular thanks goes to organiser Phil Croft, from Ramsbottom.

Prestwich won the inaugural staging of the competition in 2018.
