Chairman’s annual report

by | Sunday May 23rd 2021 | Club

My condolences to anybody who has lost relatives and friends through this horrendous period. To display the affects of it on our club does not really matter when you consider the impact on families and business in our fantastic country.

The Club is still in an envious position, due in part, to Government financial support administered locally by Bury Council. Heather will highlight the financials in her report and I will concentrate on matters pertaining to our future and the wonderful effort behind the scenes by our volunteers.

Our demanding plans to assist our future sustainability are progressing forward and will be highlighted to our membership very soon. They are at this stage dependant on grant support, but with the level of quality business acumen available to the club we remain confident of success.

Our volunteers have worked even harder to present the club in the best possible light and our facilities all look brilliant. We are moving forward in the development of Grimshaws into a more professional playing area and of course, hopefully, to allow much needed additional car parking.

The bar will be re-opening internally on the 17th May, with limited numbers and again fully on June 21st, in line with the Governments lockdown process.

Finally, can I thank Irene Burwin for her period as President which comes to an end at the AGM. She has proved a wonderful servant to our club throughout her membership and her tenure as president.
