The TCA Northern Star u11s Indoor Cricket team, containing 3 lads from Prestwich CC, became the Action Indoor Cricket England National Champions on Sunday.

Finn Goodwin, Sami Khan and Oli Staley all made valuable contributions across 3 tight games against Derby North and Stanmore in the group stage and Derby South in the Grand Final.

The team, coached by Pete and Sam Staley, represented The Cricket Asylum indoor centre, and was made up of players from 5 clubs across Bury, Rochdale and Halifax.

Chasing 98 in the final – Sami, batting last pair, showed great composure under pressure to get the team over the line. Finn’s 15 runs and 2 overs 1 for 3 plus Oli’s 18 runs a stumping and a caught behind all proved pivotal in the ensuing 8 run victory.

In The Autumn Blitz competition at The Cricket Asylum, Sam Staley, Charlie Jackson, Thomas Prescott, Ellis Compton, Tom Hatchett, Anis Khaliq, Sam Regan and Manav Sharma have all reached ‘Premiership Finals’ across the u13s and 16s age groups whilst Finn Goodwin, Oli Staley, Sami Khan, Max Hunt, Hasnain Imran, Noah Martin and Nathan Flegg will contest Championship Finals at u11s.

Well done everyone.
