Prestwich lads tasted success in the The Cricket Asylums ‘Autumn Blitz’ last week as the U11s and U13s competitions came to their conclusion.

Playing for The Northern Star Indoor Cricket Club (whose teams are made up of players from clubs across Bury) The Superkings, including 5 players from Prestwich, won the U13s Premiership Final. Having remained unbeaten (with 9 straight wins) during the group stage to secure qualification for Finals Night, they beat current holders, The Lightcliffe Lads, in the semi final by 30 runs then overcame Slawit Yeti’s by 45 runs in the Final to be crowned Champions. 5 Prestwich lads were in the squad, Sam Staley, Charlie Jackson, Ellis Compton, Ben Pinkus and Thomas Prescott. Well done boys. The majority of this team will be competing in the U14s National League over the coming months.

The Slammers who were relegated from the u11s Premiership at the halfway point of the season, regrouped, and qualified for The Championship Finals day. 4 Prestwich lads, Oli Staley, Max Hunt, Nathan Flegg and Sami Khan were part of the team who beat Stones by 63 runs in a one sided semi final and Littleborough Hares by 31 runs in the final to be crowned Championship winners. Well done boys.

Sam Regan, Tom Hatchett and Anis Khaliq, who play for The Northern Star Sabres, have their u16s Finals on November 21st – good luck lads.
