Week6 : A Team home to Whitefield B won 8 – 7.5 (5 winners each) agg 180 – 151.  B Team away to Prestwich Cons B won 9 -7 (6 – 4 winners) agg 174 -177

Another local derby against the unfancied Whitefield B and another nail bitng game which was a tale of two halves, the first we lost 1 – 4 but won the second 4-1 so having 5 winners apiece but with some big wins, Prestwich take the agg with some comfort in the end.

Marky Mark stepping into the skippers shoes and reverting back to to his new bowls probably had the hardest match of the night against Phill Berry who had just dropped from whitefield 1ST team.

Mark quickly established a commamding lead which included a 9 break to lead 16 – 8, But phill found a good length and land apulled himself back into it to trail 17- 16 but then scored a coule of twos to win.  Final Score Marklost 19 -21.

Dave bellis making his long awaited return, playing B Gore  also had a commanding lead of 18 -9 only for his opponent to hit a purple patch and bowl some fantastic woods and run out with an impreesive 12 break.  Dave lost  18 – 21.

Marathon Man Morley should consider changing his name to might win at home one day!  was clearly not in any kind of form and his opponent – D Hadwick  Capitlised was always controlling the game Final Score Stafford lost 8 – 21.

Mr 100% red  balls – colin Palmer  took control from the start and raced to 14 – 4 lead, then his card was taken over by me only to see his opponent comeback 16 -10 (sorry colin) but colin regained composure and won 21 – 10.

Dave Palmer gave his opponnent D owen to much start and this ws to be his undoing.  Dave trailed 2 -8 pulled back to level at 10 across, only to see his opponent pull away again to lead 16 – 10, this was followed by exchanges between the players and the final score dave lost 13 – 21.

First Half 1 – 6  agg    79 – 94

Chrissy Ireland up nextwas his usual highy consistent sprinted to 7 – 0 then 15 – 1, then with the job done,eased off and his opponent goy in a clawed some back
final score chris won 21 – 10

Sprinter Gareth was back to his best sprinted to 12 – 4 then 19 – 7, followed by exchanges of pointsfinal score gareth won 21 -9

Globe Trotter Stevie blaymire was “all at sea!” though being 0 – 6 down ,pulled it back to lead 11 – 8 but injury struck has he pulled a muscle in his arm, and was in discomfort which cost him his game final score steve lost 17 -21

One man crowd up next – jon armstrong also pretecting his unbeaten startgot off to a slow start and was soon trailed 2 -5,  jon found his party piece and put a break of 7 to take the lead 9 – 7,this was followed by neither player being able to hold on to the block and swapped points for  fun, before jon got back on the same piece as before to lead 17 – 9 before Vinnie Crowe settled onto a mark and pulled some points back. Final Score jon 21 – 15

Anchorman Ian Luckeet was awsome at 4 – 1 up put in a very impressive 16 break leaving his opponent the hapless Brian Seel wondering who had upset , Brian scored
the next point only for ian to wrap it  up the next end and win 21 – 2

Second Half 4 – 1.5   agg 101 – 57

B team

Playing away at the league leaders Prestwich Cons B had  a very fine win and were unlucky not to pinch the agg score waw 9 – 7 (174 -177 agg).

John Haslam Has once again claimed the best marker in the club for having marked 2 winning cards on the night.  He also advised That Steve dixon bowled really well with some exhibtion bowls John Steenson had a really tight game with nothing between the players and John  Him Self came from behind!
