DARTS & DOMS WEEK 3 VERSUS ST MARYS SOCIAL CLUB

Friday October 22nd 2010 | Social

This week we were at home against St Marys SC, and it would appear that the previous week practice comp, following the cancellation of a fixture paid dividends for we were back to wining ways

Darts
with every player registering at least one ton in their game, in fact 6 players scored 2 tons, and 3 people having a checkout of over 51meant we were on fire
Showboat stu Cameron in his traditional place and opened up proceedings with a comfortable 2 – 0 win with a 2 x tons for good measure.

Bradders, not drinking, was unlucky with the draw and got the opponents best player, though he lost 0 – 2 he matched Stu and banged in 2 x tons

Young Nick, played his usual steady game and won 2 – 0 again with 2 x tons but also had a cheeky 66 checkout

New Signing Chris Williams keen to atone for for his previous game threw well and took the first leg which included a ton, lost the next but regained composure to win the 3rd and final le, also included another ton to win 2 -1

Steve (the club needs you) Walmsley having read of the loss of John davies due to work made himself available and stepped in the breach. Had a steady game winning the first leg with a 90 Checkout (T18 D18) which also included a ton, and took the next to win 2 -0 and with it claiming the bonus points for the match.

Capt Nemo up next proved that the first week was no fluke with his high scoring ability, took the first leg in steady fashion, but he stepped up several gears and blew his opponent away, starting with a ton, followed up by an oooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hunnnnnnnnddddddddddrrrrrreeeeeeeeddddddddddddd & eightieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee<b>(180)
followed by another ton to leave 121 after only 9 darts! next 3 he scored 40 leaving 81, and the next 3 went s19, T10 leaving double 16 for a 15 darter, clipped the wire on the wrong side. Nemo kept his nerve and closed the game with a 17 darter. to win 2 – 0 (sorry I know I write the report but could not help sharing my delight )

Final game was jon “3” o’Connor played his best game for a while which included 2 x tons (one in each leg) and a 76 checkout to win 2 – 0. just before Jon did his 76 checkout the following chat between nemo and jon
Jon :” what do I go for?”
Nemo :” t 60 & D 8 ”
Jon ” yeah, right, like its gonna happen”
nemo – no comment – and jon proceeds – the first dart bang in the middle of the T 20 bed followed up by the next bang in the middle of the D 8 bed

score 6 – 1 + 2 match points = 8 -1

Doms
With a couple of players unavailable saw some new pairing
Big Ted & The hammer sneaked in with 91 – 87 win

Nemo and Steve( the club needs you) walmsley played a refreshing aggressive attacking form of doms and were run away victors – 91 – 56

Trevor Williams & bradders (not drinking) were comfortable 91 -76 winners and so securing the 2 bouns points for the match

The happy couple in the camerons up next and had no decent hands all night so were always chasing the game lost 53 -91

the hammer and wendy Cameron bringing up the rear proved it wasn’t to be wendys night for the lost 76 – 19

final score 3 -2 + 2 match point s = 5 – 2

Next week we are away to the Top Bull in the Doms Cup, though I have tried to re-arrange a league fixture with them as well, which they agreed to , but since have changed there minds!! and could change again. therefore can all players both darts & doms turn up as usual at 8 pm at the club just in case

cheers

Jon Armstrong (capt Nemo)
