DARTS & DOMS WEEK 8 HOME V STAFF OF LIFE

Saturday November 27th 2010 | Social

After last week’s wobble with the wheels coming off, we faced a very strong Staff team with the league form player in their ranks.
The mood was positive we even had sir brian of lorenzini coming along to watch, or perhaps it was to watch the football! Any way how did we do – well 6 players had a ton + score

Darts

Fat fingers davies opened as usual, started with a slow nervous first leg and had a little luck to take it. The second leg was much better he stepped up a notch, produced a ton & 140 to take the leg to win 2 – 0

Showboat stu up against the league form player, with both defending unbeaten starts and both not having dropped a leg a lot was at stake, again stu started , slow and lost the first leg, again like john before him, stepped up a notch to take the next leg which included a ton to force a third -both players looked a bit edgy and were evenly matched, but when it came to the double, stu’s precision deserted him. Stu lost 1 – 2

Capt calamity up next and played like he had never picked up a dart in his life, indeed 2 darts went in treble 12 whilst aiming for treble 20!!! even Jon o’ connor stated that he is bad but calamity was far worse. though he picked up a couple of tons along the way, still had last weeks double trouble and could not finish, lost 0 – 2

Big Bird Bradders up next and faired no better played another of the opposition stronger players , could not get any consistency going lost 0 – 2

College boy carter up next showed what we missed last week and won with ease 2 – 0 he also picked up a ton (strong lad!)

With the Match now 2 -3 the baton was passed to Chris “hastings” williams to prove his worth and the signing on fee, but was not upto the job, was a poor second to loose 0 -2 and never reached treble figures in scoring.

Last but no means least was O’connor took the first leg and was looking comfortable. had 140 in the next leg, then it all went pete tong and went downhill faster than a downhill skier to lose the next 2 legs 1 – 2 .

final score 2 – 5 oh dear oh dear

Doms
apparently i have mixed up the heavyweights in big ted and even bigger bob, for according to bob, ted is actually bigger (around the waistline) so from now on it will big ted and slimline tonic bob
got back to winning ways to win 91 – 78

showboat & chris williams up next and both looking for their first doms win, went very close to lose 87 -91

the hammer and calamity the next pairing and calamity lived up to his new name, gave away a 10 pointer early on in the game, forcing an uphill struggle, which proved to be a little too much lost 83 – 91

trapper and big bird up next and never really got focused lost 66 -91

last up to and salvage a little pride was trapper & the hammer gave a good account but lost 85 -91

final score 1 – 4 lost.

Perhaps with the snowfall forces it is good job that our wheels have come off the band wagon, for we are more like a sleigh being dragged through the mud at the moment.

Next week we are away to my old club – New Bay on stand lane next to hollinghurst park just down from stand golf course. I have a wager with the landlord on the number of darts & doms games we win, hopefully I wont be out of pocket! I will also be going direct so please arrange lifts amongst yourselves.

Special Notice – viv IS BANNED FROM PLAYING THE FOOTBALL CARD – SHE WON BOTH CARDS AND SO WENT HOME £20 RICHER AND NEVER EVEN BOUGHT ME DRINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!if anyone is interested the league website is
