DARTS & DOMS WEEK 9 V OLD TOWER AT HOME

Tuesday December 21st 2010 | Social

Apologies for the lateness in the report, tis the season etc with office parties and snow blah blah blah. Anyway, this week we were at home against the bottom of the league in darts section and 3rd in the doms so mixed expectations.

Darts
There was some wonderful high scoring legs with every player hitting at least a ton, though some greedy swine hit 8!, 4 x 140’s and 180 but the finishing was awful and one player scored 1 in normal play

Showboat stu in the usual slot and played the opposition best player, put on an exhibition and lived up to his name, scored 8 tons ( taking his total to 24 for the season so far) over 3 legs and won 2 -1, with the third leg showboat, just missed the bull for 126 checkout in 18 darts.

Fat fingers davies up next and made short work to win 2 – 0 and picking up 3 tons en route

dessie o connor moved up the order to cover for big bird bradders (whom was ill – ah bless) needing to go the distance and take the game to 3 legs to win 2 -1. But in the first leg des opened with 2 xT20
and going for a third to get his first ever 180, well all I can say, that pampers are now doing an adult version! for his third dart was so nearer to the ceiling rather than the t20

baby face Nick up next, though won comfortably scoring a 100 in the first leg & 140 in the second struggled with his finish but hang on to win 2 – 0

Steve Walmsley making a guest appearance, and yes we need a nick name, again suggestions on a post card. Won the first leg with ease. The second leg he hit 140 & 000000000000000000000000000000nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hundred & eased (180) to open a considerable margin of some 300 points, but could not finish, indeed the only double he saw in this leg was his opponent “sue” yep you read it right a lady no less, chipped away with steady 26 or 45 scores and hit the double with her first dart!. Steve dug deep in the final leg and chipped in another 140 & 100 for good measure to steal the game 2 – 1

Chris “hastings” not much to write about in this game Williams up next went the distance in 3 legs chris scored a ton and won 2 -1 (yawn)

with 6 winners in the bag and 1 to play for the whitewash up stepped capt Nemo who was well below average in fact he was sub zero lost the first leg which included the score of a single 1 in open play and not going for a double. Stepped up a notch to win the second leg which included the score of 5, then in the 3rd leg finally hit a little form and scored a 140 to put a little distance between the players and won 2 -1

result 7 – 0 + 2 bonus pointsbut 5 games going to 3 legs was a closer affair than the scoreline suggests.

Doms
Slim line tonic bob & bugger ted back to winning ways with 91 – 55

Trapper Williams & steve (needs anick name) walmsely also won 91 – 80

Capt nemo and hastings up next, and our inexpereinced showed lost 49 – 91

Showboat out to lose his 100% record of defeat – yes hes not one all season played the hammer to try and bring some luck – yep you guessed it still no good – stick to darts to stu lost 83 – 91

meaning the final game all was at stake so trapper looking for his second win of the night and played with the hammer held their nerve and won 91 -73

result 3 -2 + 2 bonus points

There is no league game until 10 /01/2011 where we are away to the league leaders in the swan & railway.
I will try and put the league tables and players stats in the next couple of weeks but me and technology dont mix
so happy xmas to one and all may god bless us each and every one
