On behalf of PCTBC I offer our sincere condolences to Alan, Leo and all their families. The loss of Viv to PCTBC is impossible to quantify as she was at the core of everything, whether day to day management, catering or generally supporting everything from a playing point of view and contributing massively to the new Football section.
In her working life she managed the very busy and successful NatWest Branch in Cheetham Hill. Whenever I popped in on Club or personal business the staff would say that they would tell her that Uncle Brian was in reception. She used her financial skills to the benefit of the club and with her Finance team (Heather & Anne) successfully ran our accounts for many years.
Her family are all very proud of what she achieved and in particular she was her Father’s daughter in everything she did in her admin roles, I think that says it all.
Viv started playing Tennis as an eight year old and played through to the present day at a very high standard. Well known within Tennis circles locally as she played competitively for at least thirty years.
I can remember playing one set with her in a mixed game years ago winning six nil! She was very good and winning with me proved that. She won numerous awards at Tennis and remained very competitive throughout her playing career. Very recently she would be seen playing Tennis with Leo or watching him at Tennis coaching or Football training.
Her membership carried through her playing days into administration and latterly as Treasurer and Trustee of the Club. Words cannot compliment her contribution to her beloved club suffice to say, outside her family, the club was at the forefront of everything she did. To me personally she was the ultimate support and I cannot possibly think of the Club without engaging thoughts of Viv.
Sunday morning financial reconciliation was interesting with both of us setting ‘TESTS’ for each other, not mistakes, always TESTS! In later years Leo joined in and did his own interpretation of the accounts. Somehow we managed to balanced regularly.
Voluntary members like Viv have made all the difference to our club, every event, whether sporting or social, she was there with her mate Helen or her Executive assistant Sue or the Tea Ladies sorting the food out. A very special loving and much loved girl and friend to all of us.
Rest in peace Viv we will never ever forget you.
Love,
Brian
