NEW TENNIS HEAD COACH APPOINTED

Monday June 17th 2013 | Tennis

With a summer of tennis to look forward to Prestwich Tennis Club is pleased to welcome Paul Jepson as their new head coach.  Paul is an LTA level 4 coach and has played County and National League tennis at singles and doubles for Lancashire.

Paul is familiar with the Club having stepped in to provide holiday cover for the Saturday morning junior sessions last summer.  Paul came down to the Club last Saturday (25th May) to wish current coach Karen Bevan best wishes for the future as she leaves to focus on her young family and meet some of the junior attendees. The attached photo shows the 11am junior session with Karen and Paul pictured centre and level 1 coach Christian Millington on the far right.

Paul comments “I am delighted to be joining Prestwich Tennis Club as head coach and aim to build on the coaching already taking place and make full use of the excellent facilities at this lively Club.  I will be working with the Club to run a full coaching programme including the mini-tennis / junior sessions on Saturday mornings, summer camps, beginner and refresher courses, one to one and squad coaching.  I also want to develop links with local schools.  Anyone interested in having lessons for themselves or their children can contact Paul directly on 07841 605244, via his website http://www.pb365.co.uk or pop down to the Club on Saturday morning.

The Club caters for all standards of tennis with well established social tennis slots on Saturday / Sunday afternoon and Tuesday evenings, eleven adult and junior teams playing in local leagues, a singles ladder, and opportunities to enter Club and external tournaments.  New members are always welcome and enquiries about membership should be directed to the Tennis Section Chairman – Alan Millington on 773 2913 or membership secretary Gill Boyle on 798 8720.   Alternatively pop down to the courts on Saturday morning or at one of the social tennis slots held every Tuesday evening and Saturday and Sunday afternoons.  Annual membership rates for tennis start at just £17 for under 13s, £23 for under 16s, £30 for under 23s and students and £121 for full adult membership.
