You can get into the Wimbledon spirit this weekend at Prestwich Tennis Club with an LTA supported open day.  The event runs on Sunday from 11am – 3pm and there are a number of set sessions led by head coach Paul Jepson:

Family Time 11am -12  – noon where visitors can get on court with the family and have some fun.

Mini Tennis 11am – 12 noon  – aimed at children between 3-10 years old it uses smaller nets, racquets and soft lower bouncing ball and offers the perfect introduction to the sport.

Tennis Express 12noon – 1pm – will provide beginners and existing players to learn the basics or some helpful coaching tips as well as the opportunity to play some points.

Cardio Tennis 1-2pm – is a fun and sociable group fitness class set on a tennis court and supported by motivating music where you will get the chance to have lots of tennis balls and have a great workout.

Free Play – 2-3pm – For those who don’t fancy a set coaching session there is an opportunity to just try out the Club’s facilities.

All events are free and to be sure of a place at one of the sessions you can log on to the LTA website lta.org.uk, type in your postcode and reserve a place.

Prestwich Tennis Club is open to anyone interested in taking up tennis, or looking to improve on existing skills and we welcome new members.  As well as the set sessions, Sunday’s event will be an opportunity for visitors to find out more about the Club and its activities and a chance to meet existing members.

No equipment is needed as this will be provided – just flat soled trainers. Anyone wanting further information about the event should contact head coach Paul Jepson on 07841605244 or at pb365@outlook.com.  Access can be gained off Heys Road (opposite Prestwich High School) or at the back of Prestwich Metrolink Station.
