Head Tennis Coach Paul Jepson has scooped national recognition being named as Tennis For Free coach of the year.

Tennis for Free is a registered charity operating across the UK. It aims to create free tennis playing opportunities on public courts for all ages and abilities. Tennis for free supporters include Judy Murray, BBC commentator Andrew Castle and ex Wimbledon champion Pat Cash.

Paul, working in conjunction with Bury Council, Tennis for Free and the Lawn Tennis Association has spearheaded a community Tennis for Free initiative at St Marys Park in Prestwich. In just a few months Paul helped to create one of the biggest attendance basis of any Tennis for Free site in the UK with 445 attendees from a October 2017 launch.

The added bonus to this success being that the Paul is able to make all new players aware of the tennis offer we have here at the club.

A big well done from all at the club and I’m sure you will all join me in saying that it’s some well-deserved recognition for Paul’s continued hard work to grow the sport of tennis. Can I also take this opportunity to thank Paul for his contribution both here at the club and out engaging with the local community.
