Today we focus on catching – the latest in our series of coaching tips and drills for juniors.
The two-minute video can be accessed on our Facebook and Twitter links.
Being able to catch can be just as important as batting and bowling!

Whilst cricket practice is still very restricted, with no group coaching permissible, it is hoped the videos will give youngsters ideas on how to keep practising and improving their cricketing skills.
Keep a lookout on our website and social media links for further videos on training which can be undertaken individually.
Following the announcement from the English Cricket Board (ECB) today, that there will no professional domestic cricket before August 1, the following statement was made in relation to recreational cricket.
“The recreational game currently remains suspended until further notice – with the sole exception of the use of outdoor cricket facilities (nets and pitches) for the purpose of undertaking exercise. The ECB will seek to progress discussions with the UK Government to begin mapping out a return, including the potential for an earlier return of junior cricket.”
ECB Chief Executive Officer, Tom Harrison, said: “Naturally we want to see cricket being played at every level. We remain hopeful of seeing both domestic and recreational cricket this season and planning with the PGG (Professional Game Group) has allowed us to map a number of potential scenarios for domestic play.”
“Across the recreational game, it has been heart-warming to hear of clubs where players have returned to the nets. As children start returning to school in the coming weeks, we look forward to exploring how those guidelines and learnings can be deployed for cricket. This can then see the recreational game continue its phased return as soon as we have Government approval.”
The full statement can be viewed on the English Cricket Board website.
Cricket nets can be used by our members by pre-booking only, and in adherence with the guidelines set out in our article posted on May 16.
