What happened six years ago today

It’s the start of “Flaming June” and whilst the weather remains gloriously sunny, there is sadly no cricket to stoke our fires.
So we have taken a little lookback to June 1, 2014, to see who was too hot to handle on this exact day six years ago.
Game of the day was the first team’s third round tie in the ECB Kingfisher Beer Cup at home against Farnworth Social Circle.
And it was quite a remarkable start to the match as the visitors found themselves 4 for 3 after Tom Scott (pictured) struck twice and Sam Holden once, before Alex Spender grabbed a wicket to make it 12 for 4.
Farnworth SC eventually recovered to post a total of 171 for 8 thanks to a 119-run stand for the fifth wicket.
There was almost a copycat response from Prestwich, who were reduced to 4 for 2 before James Wharmby hit an unbeaten 69, Holden struck 45 and Ali Raza hit 35 not out for a comfortable seven-wicket victory.
