CLUB READY TO RE-OPEN TOMORROW

From chairman Brian Lorenzini:

Tomorrow, Saturday July 4th, our clubhouse and bar facilities will be back open in line with the Government’s relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions.

We are delighted with this news as it means that our members can enjoy our excellent facilities whilst following social distancing measures that have been put in place.

We respectfully urge that everyone adheres to these guidelines. PCTBC is committed to providing a safe, comfortable and relaxing environment for all our staff and members.

Restrictions will be in place on numbers allowed inside the clubhouse at any one time. A maximum of 40 has been set (to be reviewed on a regular basis) but this will become less of an issue if the weather is sufficiently good for members to socialise outside.

Operational procedures are in line with government guidelines and will be clearly shown. There will be separate entry and exit points to the clubhouse. However, it remains the responsibility of us all to play our part and ensure we are safe and compliant.

I must stress that this is a members-only facility. However, we recognise that the majority of our members have not had the opportunity to re-new their annual fees so facilities will be in place for this to happen as we re-open.

All members attending must record their names daily on a file that will be available in the entrance foyer. In the case of families attending, only one name needs recording. Under the contact and trace regulations the club must keep these records for 21 days.

Payments over the bar will be by contactless only.

As many are already aware, our tennis courts, bowling green and cricket nets have been able to operate over the past few weeks in line with the protocols and procedures outlined by the relevant sporting agencies.
In addition, our junior football training was re-starting this week under the advisory guidelines set out by the FA.

Current restrictions do not allow any cricket matches (senior or junior) to be played. Likewise, we are unable to hold our regular Friday night sessions for juniors. However, it has just been announced by the Government tonight that recreational cricket can resume from July 11th. Further details will be posted on our website as and when more details are announced by the English Cricket Board.

The planned club opening and closing times for the initial trial period will be:

Saturday – 2pm until 8pm
Sunday – 2pm until 7pm
Monday to Thursday – 6.30pm until 10pm
Friday – 6pm until 10pm
This will be under constant review and is subject to alterations in line with Government guidelines and the club’s discretion.

Please note: when required we will accommodate TV football which might require different timings.
