SPECTACULAR T15 ENDS IN A TIE

Who needs Netflix when you have drama like the T15 game at The Heys last night.
Prestwich Heat and Walshaw Warriors tied on 154 after the visitors cracked a six off the last ball.
Even before a ball was bowled, the non-appearance of the umpires gave this thriller an unexpected early twist.
Thanks to Brian Lorenzini and Steve Allington, the game went ahead, and most of the game was spent signalling fours and sixes.
Danny Pawson smashed 67 not out and James Wharmby 43 before retiring hurt, to set up a run chase of more than 10 an over.
Walshaw were equally devastating, led by a excellent innings of 68 from Saif Bhojani until Sam Holden pulled off a wonder catch on the deep long-on boundary.
When Josh Allum hit the last ball for six, honours were justifiably even and a brilliant advert for this shortened form of the game which will no doubt have made good listening on the ball-by-ball commentary provided by Roch Valley Radio.
Last night’s match was the fourth game in eight days for the first team, with mixed fortunes. It started with a 12-run defeat in the T15 game against Bury Storm last Thursday where Nathan Bailey’s 3 for 19 and late order 20 not out was not quite enough.
Jack Doyle top scored with 48 and Luke Prescott made 22 when they batted first against Astley & Tyldesley last Saturday, reaching 155 for 7 of the 40-over allocation.
Aaryaman Roy starred with the ball taking 4 for 30 with two wickets each for Pawson and Bailey to register a 34-run victory.
Wharmby also took a landmark 250th catch (212 as wicketkeeper) for the first team.
Sunday’s trip to Roe Green was one to forget as the home side piled up 246 for 5, with Jordan Stephens hitting 74. Prestwich capitulated for 79 as Andy Hough took 4 for 10.
The 2nd XI lost by 42 runs to Littleborough Lakeside 1st XI on Saturday after Adam Cheshire (5 for 19) and Tom Robinson (3 for 37) helped restrict the home side to 129. Cheshire top scored with 28 but were bowled out for 87.
The 3rd XI made the short trip to Unsworth for another nail-biter last Sunday – and performed valiantly, losing with just 2 balls left.
They made 169 for 6 with Luke Prescott hitting an unbeaten 59, Josh Ahern 35, and other worthy contributions from Hassnain Ashfaq, Will Lightfoot and Dylan Kane.
Daisy Hunt was the star bowler for Prestwich as she took 3 for 20, including the wicket of opener Mitchell Garnett for 63.
