Serving up County Titles

The annual Lancashire Tennis Championships recently took place at Bolton Arena, this flagship event brings together the best players from the county of Lancashire in what is always a highly competitive event.

Prestwich’s junior section were on top form and brought home a number of titles.

Daisy Wooton claimed the 11 and under Girls Singles followed up with winning the 12 & Under Girls doubles.

Mariam Metfah who often plays in the ladies first team was seeded 1 and claimed the 12 & Under Girls Singles title to add to her haul.

Remarkably Mariam has won the county title in every age group she has played over the last several years.

Finally Adam Singleton just turning 17 and having spent many years under the guidance of our Tennis Coach Paul Jepson claimed the 18 & Under Boys Doubles title and was runner up in a very high quality 18 & Under Boys Singles event, just losing out in the final, 13-11 in a third set tie break. Adam also had a good run in the men’s singles, having qualified through and making the quarter finals.
