We are saddened to hear that Ian (Digger) passed away yesterday. He had not been well for a long period and was taken ill suddenly after a fall.

Digger was a stalwart of PCTBC starting as an accomplished Tennis player and organiser of many tournaments both internally and externally.

He also played Cricket and Football for the club and was of course our Volunteer Bar Manager for over 20 years. He was an integral part of the social activities of the club as well as a hardworking volunteer.

Digger was educated at MGS and started a very promising career at Cousins in Salford, moving on to running his own business and latterly working at DUO in their sales dept. He was a passionate supporter of Bury FC and a regular attender both home and away.

The Club send their heartfelt condolences to Sue, Nick and Louise and all the family. We will of course pass on the funeral information at a later date.

RIP Digger.

UPDATE 7th October – Ian’s funeral will take place on Thursday 21st October at 1:15pm at St Margaret’s Church and then on to Radcliffe Crematorium (family only). Following the funeral the wake will be held at the club.
