Steven’s Club Fundraiser to Support Free Cricket Coaching/ Practice & Pickleball

Having raised £4,200 in support of Steven’s cycling journey this summer, the club is delighted to announce initial plans to use the funds to further participation and player development across the club.

The Cricket Section have reserved a 3 hour slot on Sunday’s at Top Cricket in Ashton for 13 weeks, commencing on January 9th. We have access to 42 hours of bowling machine practice for batsmen, available to juniors and seniors. Steven will be on hand to coach and will also lead the organisational side of this booking. We have a 10-1 slot each Sunday, please contact Steven if you are interested in developing your game this winter.

Meanwhile, The Tennis Section are busy making plans to launch Pickleball on the courts next summer. The sport is gaining popularity rapidly globally and is viewed as a great tool to get people interested in playing racquet sports. It’s also a great alternative for those who are looking for a less physically demanding contest and the club are very confident it will increase participation levels on the courts next summer.

These initial plans will use approximately £2,500 of the money raised. More plans will be published in due course.
