Tuesday October 27th 2009 | Club

There were no darts this week, but we were involved in the Cliff Hugill memorial Domino Cup, against Stopes Tavern from the first division, who won the domino knock out cup last season.
We were keen to build on our winning start in the league, but sadly , it was not meant to be,

Due to holidays we were forced to bring in The mighty Bob Hinchcliffe and John Davies to play his first ever Doms match and the games went as follows:

Mighty Bob & Andy Bradley had the honours of opening the proceedings, and went down with a fight to lose 83 – 91

Big Ted & Happy Haslam (JOHN) went next and lost their winning start and lost 72 – 91

The delightful ladies Irene Playing her first competing match Burwell and Janet steady Austin up next and needed to win to ensure the match went to another game did not us down and showed the boys how it is done and won 91 -70 and could have been more had it not been for loss in concentration.

Skipper Jon Army & John “I Have no idea what I am doing ” Davies, showed real class of how not to play dominoes and Johns inexperience was capitalized on by the opponents lost 69 – 91

With the match lost the final game was a dead rubber butt Mighty Bob & Big Ted stepped up to save face and won 91 – 70 making the match 2 -3 and no disgrace.
