TWELVE goals and two hat-tricks for Prestwich this weekend as the First Team hit five against Old Boltonians Reserves while the Sunday Team thumped Crown FC 7-1 in the Millennium Cup Quarter-final to set up an away tie at Cross Keys in the last four.
On Saturday, Shaun Jackson hit a hat-trick on his return to the side as Division Two leaders Prestwich blasted five past Old Boltonians Reserves at Heys Road.
The energetic striker wasted no time in getting back amongst the goals as he converted Sean Haslam’s low cross in the 12th minute to give his side an early advantage.
Craig Howarth’s good work down the right was rewarded when his centre was collected by Haslam who turned inside and drove home from 12 yards.
Prestwich were in no mood to let up and when Jackson was hacked down inside the box, he picked himself up and blasted in the resulting penalty to send the home side three up inside half an hour.
After the break, Haslam went close with a header before Jackson fired in to the roof of the net for his third following good link up play between Anthony Roberts and Haslam. That goal took the strikers tally to 15 goals from 15 games this season.
Defender Gareth Barnes cross in the 70th minute almost had everybody fooled as it skewed goalwards and brought a flying fingertip save from the Bolts ‘keeper.
But there was no denying Prestwich their fifth when Roberts sprang the visitors offside trap to calmly round the ‘keeper before slotting in to the empty net.
A slack moment at the back gifted Boltonians a consolation with five minutes remaining but took nothing away from another convincing display from Lee Metcalfe’s men as they stay five points clear at the division’s summit.

• Prestwich Sunday team got over a nervy start to ease in to the semi-finals following a 7-1 win against Crown FC at Heys Road.
Chris Crookes gave the home side an early lead before a Curtis Ward own goal in the 9th minute gifted the Crown an equaliser.
Sean Haslam’s side-footed volley from a Crookes cross restored the advantage before Jackson rounded the ‘keeper for the third.
Haslam broke the offside trap to bag the fourth on the hour with Jackson firing home six minutes later for the fifth.
Paul McGovern’s low cross was sliced in to his own net by a Crown defender in the 68th minute and Haslam rounded off the win with his third and the teams seventh with ten minutes remaining.
