Stand in skipper Peter Lorenzini won the toss and chose to field first. Jonny Walters and Nick Carter opened the bowling and each took a wicket apice as the visitors were reduced to 23 for 2 off the first 10 overs.

Glossop recovered slightly but Lorenzini who had replaced Carter picked up a couple of wickets and Tom Gibson had Kenny caught behind by James Whamby to leave the score at 78 for 5. Dangerman Bevan was soon stumped by the impressive Whamby off Lorenzini which left Prestwich eyeing up the full 5 points.

In the last ten overs Damon Montgomery removed Kells and Walters managed to get on hat-trick ball but unlike Cheese and the Pro already this campaign he instead was denied and so to were Prestwich the final wicket. Walters first wicket in his second spell came as a result of a Whamby catch the youngsters 3rd victim of the innings.

Chasing 129 in the second innings the win never looked in doubt. Dave Taylor and John Fiorentini gave the usual good solid start to put on 43 for the first wicket when Fordy was dismissed for 12.

New signing Paul Rogers making his 2nd team debut and batting at 3 was in superb form. The former Cheetham Hill man struck a quick fire 50 in just 32 balls and finished 61 not out from 50 balls faced.

Last seasons top batsman Sean Haslam helped Rogers complete the 8 wicket win with 27 not out, Taylor had previously made 21.

A 4 point win and focus now turns to the Bank Holiday double away at Irlam.
