DOING OUR B-RAINS IN!

The rain drove cricketers at Prestwich “quackers” – for the third home league game on the trot.

Not a single ball was bowled on Saturday when the first team were due to cross swords with rivals Roe Green.

Heavy morning rain left puddles on The Heys which was topped up in the early afternoon to leave the ground more duck-friendly, than cricket-friendly.

This comes on top of similar abandonments at home to Dukinfield and Thornham in May.

Prestwich face a league clash away at Denton St Lawrence on Saturday, followed by a tie at Northern League side Leyland on Sunday, in the Lancs Cup second round.

They will hoping to avenge last year’s defeat – by just one run – when they met in the National Knockout Cup.
