DARTS DOMS & CRIB WEEK 1 HOME AGAINST CROSS KEYS

Wednesday September 28th 2011 | Social

Hi all welcome back to a new season in a new league with a new look team.
Joining the team this year are two additional ladies with carol Bradley bringing the class and pat bringing the post! We also have Phil cool Bradley and Paul the pro.

We started the league against the previous season darts champs in the cross keys who had an auld friend amongst their ranks in Steve walmsley, but how did we do?

Darts
This season we only play one leg of 701 with equal darts, this means that the away player has an extra throw at the double

First up was showboat stu Cameron who played more like a tug than a showboat was always behind, but stuck to the task and chipped in with an impressive 72 finish to take the match.

Next was Paul the pro or smart arse has he was known on the night for pointing out some minor errors in my admin! Scored two tons and 140 to win his match with ease.

Next was bradders the centurion, fresh from his antics with the ball during the summer by taking 100+ wickets, proved he could do it with the darts chipped in a cheeky 140 to take his game

Fat fingers Davies thresh from his self imposed retirement show his style with two tons on the way to winning his match.

The score now prestwich 4 cross keys 0 what a start and the bonus points secured

Baby face assassin nick carter up against our auld team mate Stevew, and quickly showed him a clean pair of heels and raced to a 300 lead only to stumble and trip and could not finish in fact the nearest he got to a double was in the domino box

Next was postie pat from the bar carter had a good steady game, scoring A ton & 140 along the way and was unlucky, indeed became the first person to fall fowl of the equal darts rule for she actually hit the double first but took 3 darts whereas the opponent did it in 2 to take the game.

The score now read 4 – 2 with Capt. Nemo (who was actually given a new name but it is too rude to write) to play, was below par but kept up with play and got the double in 5 darts to win.
Final score 5 – 2 won + 2 Bonus points

Darts gallon (though nemo insisted on calling it galleon- dumb yorkie)
This is 3 single legs of 501
Chris Williams up and was unlucky played very well took 2 tons but was beat in only 17 darts, so can’t really complain

Paul the pro restored faith and leveled the game with an easy win

Centurion wanted to play the last and did not disappoint again took the game and with it the gallon 2 – 1
Great start could we continue with the doms and crib …

Doms
This season they is only 4 pairs – quick makes it easier for me (yippee)

Big ted and even bigger bob went down with a whimper 67 – 91

The hammer & trapper Williams restored some pride with a close 91 – 89 victory

Classy Carol and Phil cool Bradley failed to sparkle on their debut and lost 72 – 91

The Cameronsbringing up the rear were unlucky with a close 86 – 91 defeat

Result lost 2 – 7 (you score 2 pts for a win and a bonus pt for winning agg)

Crib (cards for those, likeme who have no idea what it is or how it is played)

The Bradleys may now know as the boo Bradleys for had an empathic defeat of 62 – 91

Ted & Bob faired a little better with a defeat of 78 – 91 ( an impressive double defeat on the night boys)

The Camerons showed them what to do and won easily 91 – 73

Last and no means least was the hammer and trapper put up a brave fight (ifindeed you can fight in cards) and just got pipped 89 – 91

Result lost 2 – 7

Thanks again to the ladies for the food
Next week we are away at rileys.
