Prestwich Cricket Club will be hosting another Junior Coaching Camp following on from the success of last years three day event. Taking place over the 9th, 10th and 11th August, the camp caters for players aged 11 to 17 years and will be run by ex-Prestwich Pro’ Amal Dalugoda and LCB Coach Nigel Brown.

Unbeaten knocks from Gareth Barnes (53) and James Wharmby (36) dragged Prestwich over the finishing line as the Heys Road side finally got a win over Denton St Lawrence in their own back yard after umpteen years of trying!

Sam Holden’s superb 96 gave Prestwich hope of getting past Darwen’s 271 but it was to no avail as the Heys Road side were dumped out of the National Knock Out by just 27 runs.

The Prestwich second string arrived at Woodhouses to discover that their first eleven had chosen not to put the covers on the night before and given the overnight rain there was a good chance of a spicy wicket.

Prestwich lifted the Quality Save T20 Cup at Roe Green’s Greenleach Lane ground on Monday afternoon. Excellent in the field all day, Steven Lorenzini’s side first overcame Swinton Moorside by 47 runs in the semi-final before beating Winton in the final by 48 runs.
